Llanishen Reservoir Planning Inquiry and Petition
The first public inquiry into plans to build on the site of Llanishen and Lisvane Reservoirs has now finished.Theinquiry, which began on 31st October and lasted for several weeks, was attended by
many local residents and Llanishen Reservoir Action Group (RAG) campaigners who oppose the proposed development.
Cardiff Friends of the Earth is helping to fund the case to stop this damaging development.
TheCouncil planners said they refused the application on eight grounds, including the harm to amenities, open space and grassland fungi.
Western Power Distribution (WPD), who own the site, have since threatened to drain the reservoirs.
In response Jenny Randerson, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Cardiff Central, has launched a petition protesting against WPD's aggressive and bullying tactics. The petition will be sent
to the American-owned company's directors rather than its local representatives, to ensure they are made aware of the situation.
