The Climate Change Bill is now law. It includes targets that will allow the UK to cut carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050.

Julie Morgan MP has signed EDM 736 confirming her commitment to a strong climate change bill.

The climate change bill is reaching its final stages - before it comes into being, MPs have a chance to amend its terms. Friends of the Earth is calling for them to be toughened and include:

• annual targets;
• at least 80 per cent emission reductions by 2050;
• emissions from international aviation and shipping in the targets.

Pressure was put on Julie Morgan by constituents sending Big Ask postcards and following a meeting with Friends of the Earth Cardiff where she signed up to all of the asks.
