Julie Morgan has signed EDM 736 confirming her commitment to a strong climate change bill.
The climate change bill is reaching its final stages - before it comes into being, MPs have a chance to amend its terms. Friends of the Earth is calling for them to be toughened and include:
- annual targets;
- at least 80% emission reductions by 2050;
- emissions from international aviation and shipping in the targets.
Pressure was put on Julie Morgan by constituents sending Big Ask postcards and following a meeting with Friends of the Earth Cardiff where she signed up to all of the asks.
