Cardiff Friends of the Earth welcome the announcement by the Welsh Assembly Government this week that they are giving £6m more to develop sustainable transport across the Wales over the next year.

Road building and airport expansion threaten not only the local area but also life as we know it.

Changing the way we travel to more environmentally friendly methods such as walking, cycling, rail and bus plays a vital part in stopping climate change. We also have to reduce our need to travel.
