We are campaigning to increase Cardiff's tree canopy cover, protect existing trees and biodiversity from threat of development and ensure Cardiff green spaces are accessible for all residents.
Cardiff Friends of the Earth are supporting local communities to protect their green spaces and trees. We want to see nature thrive!
Cardiff Friends of the Earth are campaigning for a greener Cardiff.
We want to see an increase in tree canopy cover, greater protection for existing trees and for wildlife to thrive without the threat from development and climate change.
We want all communities to have equal access to green spaces and enjoy the health benefits that these areas have to offer.
Cardiff Trees and Nature
Trees and nature are our allies in the fight against climate change. Trees clean the air, improve soil fertility and support biodiversity by providing homes to thousands of species. Trees offer aesthetic value and are vital for wellbeing.
The UK has legislated for net-zero emissions by 2050. Trees are important for absorbing carbon from the air and contributing to achieving this target.
Friends of the Earth are campaigning nationally to double tree cover across the UK, if achieved this could help absorb 10% of the UK's current and annual greenhouse emissions.
Cardiff friends of the Earth are campaigning across Cardiff to increase awareness, advocacy and public engagement in practical action to help support this cause. If you want to get involved, please join our monthly Trees and Nature subgroup meetings - contact us via Cardiff Friends of the Earth Social Media or info@foecardiff.co.uk.
