Change Starts Now! #EnvironmentEqualityCDF

Cardiff Friends of the Earth want to see an environmentally friendly, fair and socially just Cardiff.

We need to become better at reaching out to wider communities, understanding the struggles and working together for a more environmentally friendly and socially just Cardiff.

Diversity and Environmental Justice.

**01-08-2020 UPDATE**

Thank you to everyone who attended the #EnvironmentEqualityCDF panel on Wednesday 29th July. A special thank you to the panellists who took the time to join us.

There were really insightful points from the panel discussion. 'Only by talking to people can you find out what their real concerns are. This doesn't mean calling a meeting and hoping people turn up, but going to talk to people on their patch'.

We are now reflecting on the thoughts and discussion from the evening and are thinking about our next steps. We hope we can continue to build local alliances to work towards breaking down the social and environmental injustices in Cardiff.

A recording of the event will be available to watch soon.

It is well known that the environmental movement is notoriously white and middle class and yet, it is not this demographic that environmental issues affect the most. The inhumane killing of George Floyd has amplified diversity issues across all areas of society.

We need to become better at reaching out to wider communities, understanding the struggles and working together for a more environmentally friendly and socially just Cardiff.

Cardiff Friends of the Earth will be hosting its first Environmental Diversity Panel on 29th July. We are joined by guest panelists from across Cardiff and South Wales. For details and how to join https://actionnetwork.org/events/environmental-equality-panel-change-starts-now/

We hope that this discussion will be a welcome first step in us taking action as a group.

A full recording of the event will be available after. Come and join us and stay tuned!
